Totally smooth and creamy peanut butter made with only real peanuts and sea salt.

You guys!! I am so excited about this.

So, so, sooooo excited!!

A jar of my very own homemade peanut butter!! And I made it! In my own kitchen! In under 5 minutes!! And it was so crazy easy!

This is so going to be a thing for me now – I’m making all of my own nut butters at home from now on! And it’s kind of, super exciting!

And you can do it too! (Because if making your own peanut butter at home doesn’t impress all of your friends and family, I don’t know what will!)

I am serious when I say it couldn’t be easier.

I was skeptical at first too. I had always pictured large and expensive nut grinders that would take up more than half of the kitchen when it came to DIY peanut butter. Kind of like the ones they have at the really fancy health food stores with the ‘Do NOT Put Your Fingers Inside The Grinder’ signs plastered all over the thing. Because if that was what making your own nut butters at home was all about, I was out. Like, no way! Not a chance.

Isn’t it just easier to buy it?

Nope. Not anymore!

Now, this isn’t exactly a new and exciting recipe that I dreamed up all by myself. Pinterest has been flaunting homemade nut butters, nut spreads, nut sauces and nut dips like nobody’s business since before Pinterest has become my life’s obsession. And, just like Pinterest always convinces inspires us to do,  I had to give it a try.

And I am so glad I did.

Call me crazy but I don’t know what it is about those chunks of peanuts in my Peanut Butter. Of course, you can play around with the consistency of your PB depending on your smooth or crunchy preference. I also have tried flavoured peanut butters such as adding a teaspoon or so of vanilla or even a couple tablespoons of honey.

And when you make it at home you know your peanut butter is going to be gluten free, vegan, low in sodium and preservative and hydrogenated oil free!

My absolute favourite way to eat all of the homemade peanut butter – with sliced apples.

This homemade peanut butter will change my kitchen forever and I am definitely only making my own from now on.

Description

A super easy recipe for Homemade Peanut Butter. No expensive nut grinder require! All it takes is real peanuts, a little sea salt and a little honey for extra sweetness!

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of peanuts, dry roasted and unsalted
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 tablespoons honey or sugar, 2 tablespoon cocoa powder (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Add peanuts, salt and any optional add-in, if using into the food processor.
  2. Blend for 3-5 minutes or so until smooth and creamy. (You will see the peanuts get processed into crumbs, the form a sticky ball and then eventually turn into a smooth butter.)
  3. Transfer to an airtight jar and store in the fridge.
